Thanks you for making mention of my compromise with regards to not eating meat. Your understanding of the situation was very clear; following rigid rules is not always the healthiest choice to make. In this particular case, going to a favourite eatery with my son far outweighed the decision to limit my meat intake. I followed the same line of thinking when a friend in Ottawa wanted to take me to his favourite schawarma place in Ottawa - I opted for chicken - slightly guiltily, but in the end, of no real consequence either way.
I was glad to hear you tell the story of your decision, since it reaffirmed my own approach to making changes to my life, dietary or otherwise. Far less stressful without the extremes! Instead of feeling guilty when I fall off the wagon I more often then not feel proud when I stay on. A far better way of looking at things, IMHO.
